Sailing Away
What you need: •orange,blue,red,green,yellow,purple,pink construction paper. • Glue sticks • Blue Paint • Large white paper What to do: ~ Cut out various shapes like the ones above in many different colors (children should be able to choose any colors they want to make their boat as long as they pick a different color for each "part" of the boat) ~ Glue the pieces onto the large white paper and paint the waves using blue paint or markers. snack! Edible Ocean What you will need: • 1 cup of pre-made blueberry flavored gelatin for each child • gummy fish What to do: ~ prepare the gelatin ahead of time in separate clear plastic cups (1 per child) ~ let children gently place fish into cup and enjoy Hint: for a carnival theme fill a clear plastic party bag with blueberry gelatin, place a orange gummy fish in the middle and tie bag shut with a ribbon. Looks like the fish in a bag you win at the carnival/fair. Hand Crab
Paint both hands red and place them on the paper like above. Add googly eyes.

• Cut out eyes from a paper plate and paint it yellow
• trace hand onto yellow construction paper and cut out • glue hands around plate |
Lets Make Ice Cream!
It's just the right time to make yummy yummy ice cream! So gather the ingredients below and have fun making and eating cold creamy ice cream! hint: play dancing music while the children are shaking their bags
You will need: • Gallon sized zip loc bags 2 per child • 1 pint sized ziplocbag per child • alot of ice • 6 tablespoons of rock salt per child • 1 tablespoon of sugar per child • 1/2 cup of milk or half/half per child • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla per child What to do: ~ Fill the gallon sized bag 1/2 way with ice and add rock salt (seal closed) ~ combine milk,sugar and vanilla in pint sized bag and seal. ~ put the pint sized bag inside the gallon sized bag and seal..now put the gallon sized bag (the one with ice) inside ANOTHER gallon sized bag and seal tightly. (this will help prevent leaks) ~ Shake until milk mixture turns to ice cream ~ take out bag and pour into a bowl. Add toppings if you wish! Paper Plate Fish
Grab a paper plate, blue paint and a googly eye to create this simple Fish. Cut out a triangle from the plate and glue it to the back for a tail. Glue on googly eye and swim away! Add colored metallic paper to correlate to "The Rainbow Fish" book. The children will be thrilled to have their own Rainbow Fish to take home. Add a large craft stick to make it a puppet.
Sailing Away With Max
Sailing off with Max to where the Wild Things are. Create this sailboat from a paper plate. Paint the boat red, sails yellow and add a pole made from brown construction paper. Sail, sail away!
Paper Plate Sea Turtle
What You Need:
• two paper plates •brown construction paper •dark green paint • light green paint • brown paint • googly eyes What to do: • paint one paper plate dark green and the other one light green, dry then paint brown markings on the dark green plate. • cut out legs and head using template (click on picture) •glue dark green plate on top of light green plate, stick legs and head between plates. add eyes. Stuff a White paper Bag with newspaper, paint blue or gray and add a large googly eye to create this adorable Whale.
