    Behavior Modification Chart

The Behavior Modification Chart is one of my best tools for discipline in the  classroom. The Parents are notified in the beginning of the year of the  effectiveness of the chart and also reassured that their child is given ample  opportunities to modify their behavior. Which simply means that if they are  caught doing something "good" after their worm has been moved then they go back  to the "green" apple. Positive re-enforcement is always used in
the classroom  and children are encouraged to use their brain to figure out how to solve  differences with each other.

Our Future Is So Bright We Need
              Sunglasses!

Take a photo of each child and glue it on to a small sun. Place the large sun in the middle of a bulletin board and add the mini suns with the childrens pictures around the large sun. Place the words "Our Future is so bright we need sun glasses," above the sun.

        Birthdays! Birthdays!

Birthday Displays: Looking for an easy way to display birthdays? Grab some Poster board, border and cupcakes (buy from the teaching store or draw your own) Its easy to do and the best part is after you laminate it you can easily "erase" the names to use for next year! Attach 12  colorful balloons (make from construction paper) with yarn to the clown and you  have another easy display.

              Fall Fun Board

Have the children paint pumpkins and decorate the walls. The back drop is made from blue and green bulletin board paper. I added a bulletin board set from my local Teaching Store.

Tattling Turtle

Picture
The tattle turtle is an effective tool when you have alot of tattling in the  classroom. The poem is read in the beginning of the year and lets the children  know that they can "tell" the turtle anything they want.

Meet Tattling Turtle
Dear Students,
Tattling Turtle  will listen to you,
When you have  something to say.
Just talk to him  or write it down,
and tell what  happened today.
But if you or  anyone else is hurt,
Please do not  delay.
Come to me so I  can help,
and make sure  that your ok!
                                                                  sincerely,  Mrs. Jones

   Making Friends At Preschool

Picture
Picture
For this Bulletin Board I made the "world" using a piece of white posterboard and coloring it. Place it in the middle of the bulletin board. Connect the bears with the children's names on them. Place the words "Making Friends At Preschool." at the top.

This larger than life fish bowl coincides with our water life theme. It is made from a large piece of white bulletin board paper and colored with crayons and markers (yes it was time consuming but well worth the kids faces) I added some colored rocks, castle etc. This is an interactive board as the children create their own fish in the art center and are then put "in" the bowl!

Cot List Bulletin Board

Picture
Each year I find a creative way to display the "cot list." This serves as a visual to myself and also for subs who will need to know which cot belongs to who. The stars and sheep were cut out from construction paper and the moon was cut out from yellow posterboard. You can find the stars and sheep stencils in the template tab.

Cot List

Picture
This cot list board is very simple! Use a Dark Blue poster board, cut out stars, glue them to board and laminate. Use a dry erase marker to put cot number and child's name. Add the moon to the side using yellow poster board.

Bring some Positive Reinforcement to your classroom by making this easy fish bowl from poster Board and laminating. Add a fishing pole with yarn. When you "catch" a child doing something good like sharing, being kind etc their fish goes into the fish bowl.At the end of the day I get my "basket" of treats and have the children gather around to announce who was caught being good and what they did. Those children receive a "big" round of applause and a special treat from the basket!

THE FARM

Picture
Have fun displaying animals made by the children on this Farm Bulletin Board. Make the barn from red construction poster board and add green and blue bulletin board paper for the grass and sky. See templates for animals.
